Mareike Heenemann was born in 1982 in Berlin. Her first contact with aerial technique was in "Juxirkus", a children's circus, where she later taught trapeze. After that she decided for a professional qualification at "Die Etage" performing arts school. Her formation includes also courses and residences in Montreal, Barcelona (at the "Rogelio Rivel" school) and Brussels. Mareike also gives circus workshops for children and teens. |

Gabriela Schwab was born in 1980 in São José dos Campos, Brazil. During her theatre studies at the University of São Paulo and her work as a dancer, Gabriela decided to search new possibilities of expression in circus arts. With this intention she began creative partnerships with schools in Brazil, like "Galpão do Circo" and "Circo Escola Picadeiro". Since 2005 in Berlin, her work is concentrated in the mix of theatre, dance and circus, fields in which Gabriela gives also workshops and courses. |

In 2006 Gabriela and Mareike met in Friedrichshain and began to work together in the German-Brazilian Luftartistikduo. Their performances are characterized by a very impressive symbiosis between precise technique and international theatre experience.
